Alopecia

Alopecia is a medical term for excessive or abnormal hair loss. It's an autoimmune disorder in which white blood cells attack healthy hair follicle cells. This will cause the hair follicle to shed that hair and will not replace or regrow that hair until the immune system stops attacking that hair follicle. Once that happens the hair could grow back in the next growth cycle.

Alopecia (hair loss) affects to some degree an estimate of 1-4 women in the US Alopecia can affect people of all ages but its most commonly seen in youth between the ages of 15 and 40 20% of these cases reported hair loss recurs or becomes permanent
